In 1882, John Yates the editor of a local newspaper in New York , wrote a song which took its key phrase from 1
John 5:4 KJV, which says, “And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
The refrain from that song says:
“Faith is the victory!
Oh, glorious victory,
That overcomes the world.”
Faith is the Victory!
Hebrews 11:6 nkjv says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him.”
When we go to God in prayer, the exercise of our little faith links us with His marvelous working power. In a conversation with the Apostles and Jesus in Luke 17:5,6, the scripture says, “And the apostles said to the Lord,
“Increase our faith.”So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be
pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
This week, read examples of faith in the bible, and let us pray that God will increase our faith experience with Him.
By exercising our “little faith”, we will experience His marvelous power.’
